+1 Aim and +1 Will stacking (up to 10) for each mission where an ally does not dieĪwarded for completing a mission on a continent where the XCOM base is not locatedĪwarded for completing the XCOM Base Defense mission.+10 Aim and Critical Chance if not within 7 tiles of an ally. Here are the types of medals and their options (I've bolded the option I think is best):Īwarded for a soldier dying or receiving a grave injury on a mission ![]() Each medal will give one of two bonuses - you will pick the bonus the first time you give a medal (so additional copies of that medal will always give that bonus). ![]() You can give them to a soldier via the barracks. These medals come in limited quantities, so do not waste them. Occasionally completing a mission will award you a medal. Now the missions are simply added into the base game and you'll get achievements for advancing through them. This was originally intended as DLC for Enemy Unknown, but it never released. It has been fully integrated into the game's story. There will be many EXALT missions against human enemies. For now, just know a Cybernetics Lab should be a high priority so that you can create ONE MEC Trooper (more is simply unnecessary unless your current one dies).ĮXALT is a new faction of humans. MEC Troopers are discussed in more detail on the next page. The drawback is that they cannot take cover at all. MEC Troopers are extremely useful - they can destroy cover, deal extreme damage in melee combat, have high defenses and move long distances. This will give your soldier a new class, new armor, and new weapons. ![]() In the Cybernetics Lab you can convert one of your soldiers into a MEC Trooper. This is a great place to spend some Meld. Gene Mods are definitely something you don't spend precious Meld on early unless I explicitly mention it in the guide. There are a few achievements tied to them, so you'll definitely get them, but I never really found they made my soldiers substantially better. To be honest, I don't really think the Gene Mods are worth it. Soldiers that have received Gene Mods will be unable to go on a mission for three days. The Lab will allow you to pick between two different modifications for five different body parts per soldier. You can upgrade your soldiers with Gene Mods once you build a Genetics Lab.
